This is clearly a non-profit initiative. Building a sophisticated wooden boat like a “gozzo”, needs in fact quite a long time by itself, let alone the time required to teach how to do the job. Costs shall further include materials. A sponsor is therefore urgently needed to support this initiative aiming at a revival of our precious traditional seamanship skills before they may really disappear for good. Both STORIE DI BARCHE and GALATA MUSEO DEL MARE shall in turn make every effort to give the Sponsor the best possible visibility. In this kind of initiatives, small associations could never undertake the whole effort by themselves unless they are given a convenient support enabling them to offer a whole range of positive opportunities capable of involving both economical and cultural growth.
