In June 2005, STORIE DI BARCHE and GALATA MUSEO DEL MARE signed and agreement in view of this target. A sponsor is being looked for giving the required economic support to achieve the project.

In the second half of 2005, a wooden “gozzo” shall start to be built first at the yard of STORIE DI BARCHE (La Piccola – Pieve Ligure) provided funds are made available to cover the costs.

In spring 2006, after completing her first stage of construction, the boat shall be taken to GALATA MUSEO DEL MARE where she shall undergo the last stage of construction and have her lateen rig set up.

During the whole 2006, the “gozzo” shall remain on show at the museum where the boat building courses shall be held essentially for school forms.

Depending on the funds available, STORIE DI BARCHE shall publish a book on the construction of a typical Ligurian “gozzo” and on their side, GALATA MUSEO DEL MARE shall see that the various stages of construction of the boat come on show through the work of their Press Office.
